Viva Las Fringe Official Contest Rules
THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF MANITOBA. NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY.
ENTRY IN THIS CONTEST CONSTITUTES ACCEPTANCE OF THE FOLLOWING CONTEST RULES.
1. ELIGIBILITY. To be eligible for the Viva Las Fringe contest, an individual must: (i) be a legal resident of Manitoba and (ii) be 18 years of age or older to enter. Immediate family members of employees and persons domiciled with employees of Manitoba Theatre Centre and the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival are not eligible to participate in the Contest. This Contest is void where prohibited by law.
2. HOW TO ENTER. The Contest commences at 12:00 pm (CST Time) on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 and closes at
6:00 pm (CST Time) on Sunday, July 27, 2008 (the "Entry Period").

No purchase is necessary to enter the Viva Las Fringe Contest. Visit www.mtc.mb.ca/fr_tix_login.aspx and complete all the contest entry fields. Limit of one e-mail entry per person. Mailed copies of entries and mechanical reproductions will be rejected.
The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival/Manitoba Theatre Centre will not be responsible for lost, misdirected, falsified or delayed entries. Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival/Manitoba Theatre Centre does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, human or technical error, printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof.
Entry materials/data that have been tampered with or altered are void.
3. PRIZES. There will be three (3) prizes awarded.
• One (1) grand prize consisting of airfare for two (2) to Las Vegas, Nevada and hotel voucher for two (2) nights accommodation (maximum $400, does not include taxes) from SellOff Vacations. Total prize valued at approximately $2,400.
The prize includes only what is specifically described and no other allowance will be granted. The winner and his/her travel companion are responsible for all expenses including, but not limited to:
-meals and beverages;
-transportation costs, including round-trip transfers between the winner’s residence and the airport and the airport and/or the airport and hotel;
-travel insurance (cancellation, medical, etc.);
-gratuities, tips, taxes of any kind;
-personal expenses.
The winner and his/her travel companion, if applicable, are responsible for obtaining a valid passport and/or other required travel documentation at their own expense. If the winner and his/her travel companion are unable to travel because they lack proper documentation, the prize will be forfeited without compensation, and a new draw may be held.
The winner must be available to travel on the dates made available by Bel Air Travel. Black-out dates may be in effect. Accommodation arrangements must be made through SellOff Vacations. Taxes are not included in the $400 hotel voucher.
• One (1) prize for two-night weekend stay at The Fairmont Winnipeg, including breakfast for two (2) each morning in The Velvet Glove Restaurant (gratuity not included), approx. value $600.
• One (1) prize consisting of two (2) 2009 Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival Superpasses, approx. value $1,000.
Certain restrictions may apply. Delivery instructions will be arranged with the winner. Prize fulfillment must occur within one year of the contest closing date. No extensions will be granted.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash. The Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival/Manitoba Theatre Centre reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to substitute any and all of the prizes for prizes of equal value should all or part of the prize become unavailable for any reason.
4. WINNER SELECTION. Draw for all three Viva Las Fringe prizes will be held at Manitoba Theatre Centre on July 27 at 8:00 pm CST from all eligible entries received. Winners will be determined by random drawing from all eligible entries received by the deadline. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. The winners will be announced online and at the Fringe After Dark talk show at 9:30 pm.
The selected entrants will be notified by phone within five (5) days of the draw date.
5. PRIZE AWARDING. Each Prize must be accepted as awarded and no substitution, transfer, conversion or assignment of Prizes will be allowed, unless at the discretion of the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival/Manitoba Theatre Centre, which may substitute a Prize of comparable value.
Upon notification, the selected Entrant must respond by telephone to the contact number provided in the notification and the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival/Manitoba Theatre Centre must receive the selected Entrant’s response within five (5) business days of such notification.
If the selected Entrant does not respond in accordance with the Contest Rules or the selected Entrant does not comply with the Contest Rules, he/she will be disqualified and will not receive a prize and another Entrant will be selected. Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival/ Manitoba Theatre Centre is not responsible for late, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify the winner.
If a selected Entrant cannot be contacted within the allotted time, Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival/ Manitoba Theatre Centre reserves the right to void that entry and select another eligible Entrant for that Prize.
6. WINNER DECLARATION. In order to be declared an official winner, the selected Entrant(s) must correctly answer a time-limited skill-testing mathematical question without mechanical or other assistance. The selected Entrants will be required to complete, sign and return to Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival a Declaration and Release Form within seven (7) days of receipt. If a selected Entrant(s) fails to complete, sign and return the Declaration and Release Form within seven (7) days and/or provides an incorrect answer to the skill-testing mathematical question, Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival reserves the right to void that entry and select another eligible Entrant for that Prize.
By completing, signing and returning the Declaration and Release Form, the Entrant (i) confirms compliance with these Contest Rules and Regulations and the decisions of Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, (ii) to release and hold harmless Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, its affiliates, subsidiaries and independent contractors, and their respective directors, officers, employees, agents and representatives including advertising and promotion agencies, from any and all liability for claims/damages including, but not limited to, claims/damages for personal injury, all claims, demands, damages, actions and causes of action arising or to arise by reason of the acceptance or use of the Prize, and (iii) gives permission to Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, at their option, to publish or otherwise use the Entrant’s name, photograph and comments, without compensation, in any publicity carried out by Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival or their respective advertising agencies.
7. CONTEST GENERAL RULES: By entering the Contest, Entrants agree to abide by these Contest Rules and Regulations and the decisions of Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, which are final.
Identity of the Entrant: For the purposes of this Contest, a Contest entrant is defined as the person whose name appears on the entry form. It is to this individual that the prize will be awarded if selected and declared as the Winner.
Personal information submitted with contest entry will only be used to notify a Prize winner. Contest entrants will also receive the Fringe e-newsletter but may remove their name from the distribution list at any time. 8. WINNERS LIST: The names of the winners will be published on the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival website along with a copy of the Viva Las Fringe Contest rules and regulations or available by mailing a request and self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival, Viva Las Fringe Contest, 174, Market Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3B 0P8.
