
JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Venue Team:
This includes Venue Ticket Sellers and House Ushers. These volunteers will be at the venues selling tickets and providing info to the public. They will also take ticket stubs at the door and maintain a clean and organized venue. Experience in customer service and money handling an asset (3-6 hr shifts between 10:30am – 1:00am)
Hospitality Team (Volunteer Services):
This includes Hospitality Host and Hospitality Greeters. This also works in the volunteer centre at Fringe Central checking in volunteers and sending them in the right direction for their shifts, as well as maintaining the volunteer services. (3-5 hr shifts between 9:00am – 1:00am)
Advance Tickets Services:
This includes Advance ticket sellers and 9-4-FRINGE telephone customer service. These volunteers take ticket orders in person and on the phone and input them into the computer. Must be a detail person who provides accurate information to the phone patrons and be able to deal with money. (4-5 hr shifts between 9:00am-10:00pm)
Front-of-House Preparation (FOH Prep):
These volunteers prepare the venue packages that are sent out to the venues and all incoming paperwork. This position involves computer data entry. Experience in money handling is an asset. (4-6 hr shifts between 9:00am – 1:00am)
Kids Fringe:
These volunteers work directly with our Kids Fringe Coordinators filling a variety of tasks. Volunteers interested in working with Kids Fringe will be contacted by a member of the Volunteer department for further information. Experience working with children is an asset. (3-6 hr shifts between 10:00am – 6:00pm)
Information Tent:
Volunteers here are responsible for accurately directing patrons around the site, selling merchandise, and updating the master info board at the outdoor site. These volunteers are also asked to maintain the outdoor site for cleanliness. Experience in customer service an asset. (4-6 hr shifts between 10:00am – 1:00am)
Beverage Pavilions:
(Must be 18 or over) These volunteers are responsible for checking I.D., selling drink tickets, pouring alcohol, balancing paperwork, and maintaining neatness. Experience with money handling and beverage services an asset. (4-6 hr shifts between 10:00am – 1:00am)
Fringe Rover:
(Must be 18 or over) These volunteers are asked to do any and all of the above positions. These are incredibly valued volunteers who will be sent all over the site covering shifts or helping wherever needed. They are able to adapt and take direction well. Experience in ticket selling at the Fringe is an asset. (3-6 hr shifts between 9:00am – 1:00am)
