The Best of Fest Announcement July 25

On the last day of the Fringe 20 years to life!, we’ll leave two spots open at each of the 11 regular venues.  The two companies with the highest ticket sales and popular momentum at each venue will get an extra show on the last day of the festival.

The Best of the Fest is part fundraiser.  50% of the revenue goes to the performing company involved and 50% of the revenue goes to the Fringe Festival.

Closing Day

Sunday, July 29

Before you escape from the Fringe, don’t miss the battle of the Best of the Fest winners on the final Sunday. Chosen by their co-conspirators (in other words, Fringers like you), Best of Fest winners will perform one more time before they’re released from Winnipeg Fringe: 20 Years to Life.

Also on Sunday, we’ll present the Harry S. Rintoul Memorial Award at 8:00 pm in Old Market Square. Immediately afterward, one lucky contestant will get the chance to score up to $20,000 in cash and prizes in the Escape from the Fringe contest.

Finally, we’ll close the books on 12 lawless days of anarchic theatre with the band Steeple Chaser at 8:30 pm. Don’t miss it!
