Another Side of Rice, the sequel to my successful Side of Rice, is made of three life-affirming and, I hope, humanity-affirming stories. I’m 74 years old now, and I'm still on my lifelong and sometimes difficult quest to become a gentleman – not just any old man, but a gentle one, too. Some of my show is Winnipeg-based. Listeners will find themselves revisiting the kids’ section of the Cornish Library (1958) or the field outside Sir John Franklin School and the Sporting Goods section of Eaton’s (1963).
