Wayne James operates a heritage farm and made his first appearance at the Winnipeg Fringe in 2011. Human$, his latest production, looks at our evolving relationship with planet earth.

Some 11,000 years ago, humans began to erect temples in celebration of our connection to the living world. Temples honouring gods and individuals, that sought good fortune for the people and warded off misfortune.

Over the course of time, we slowly began to change the world around us, and in so doing, began to change ourselves.

The instrument of change has been technology. A technology that is changing a living world into a financial empire, where our temples honour corporations and madmen run amuck. And the rest of us tag along.
