May 1946. Winnipeg-born physicist Louis Slotin, who helped arm the first atomic bomb, suffers a horrific radiation accident while performing a top-secret experiment.


As he lays dying, his family and colleagues struggle to make sense of his legacy. Was Slotin an unfortunate victim of the Atomic Age? A hero who selflessly saved his colleagues from certain death? A reckless daredevil who took unnecessary risks? Or was the truth far more unsettling?
